As I imagine most women feel when they meet a world-renown—and universally admired—model, I didn’t approach my meeting to learn more about Every Mother Counts with founder Christy Turlington Burns as one that I would walk away from thinking, “She and I are similar.” Christy couldn’t be more down-to-earth and gracious about her accomplishments, in addition to being laser-focused on her mission, like the great founders I know. It’s simply true: When all is said and done, despite what are on the one hand two vastly different lives (footnote on me, I’m a small town kid from Montana, who grew up in a large family), we’re two professional women, raising kids in and loving living in New York City, fitting in runs when we can—and trying to make a difference for moms everywhere. So while Christy Turlington Burns needs no introduction, enjoy this A-List Interview and meet the Christy Turlington Burns beyond the model. A mom, an advocate, and an activist doing good in a way that is very real, and one that all of us can admire. More

An acclaimed model, an activist & now the CEO, Creative Director & Founder of FEED, Lauren Bush sets the bar high for the rest of us! But probably most impressive on her resume of socially responsible living, is just how genuinely down-to-earth and gracious Lauren is in person. It’s been my absolute pleasure to get to know Lauren over the years—so much so that it may be hard to pick which one of us is more excited about the first-ever FEED diaper bag now launching at giggle! I couldn’t be more thrilled to partner with Lauren, to support FEED or to play a small role in the important effort of feeding our world’s children. An easy “Ali’s A-List” pick, I know you’ll enjoy reading Lauren’s story as much I have enjoyed hearing it.
When it comes to decorating a nursery or kids’ room, I’m a big fan of adding a splash of color wherever you can. After all, bright colors evoke a happy, cheerful vibe, which works well with any play space. But you don’t need to paint the walls a crazy shade of yellow to brighten things up. Instead, try starting with a neutral pallet, and adding in colorful accents that make a statement.

In this week’s interview, I got the chance to hear from the man behind two great brands—Ken Berlin. Not only did he co-found Pearhead—a customer favorite gifts and keepsakes brand that makes everything from sweet baby books to pet “pawprint” frames—but he also branched out into the diaper pail world, creating one of the best diaper pails out there: the Ubbi! (If you haven’t checked it out yet, you should—it’s amazing. And you’ll only find it in orange at giggle!)
Here’s his pretty humorous take on my top 10 questions… More
If you haven’t noticed lately, we’ve been all about Nuna here at giggle. And if you’ve checked out their products, it’s easy to see why. The innovative new brand sports a unique, modern style, with products that have a smart, easy-to-use functionality we just love. (All thanks to its Dutch design experts.) That’s why I was so thrilled to learn more about Joy Nichols, President of Nuna USA.

With so much out there to choose from, shopping for a baby gift isn’t always easy — especially if it’s your first time. Sure, you always want to go by a parent-to-be’s registry to cover the basics; but sometimes, throwing in a few off-registry items they weren’t expecting can make things a little extra-special. So whether you’re the best friend, an eager first-time grandma, or a proud auntie-to-be, here are a few baby gift ideas for everyone that are absolutely fool-proof. (I promise.) More
I’ve always been a big fan of a clean, modern look; which is why I couldn’t be happier about the comeback of Mid-Century Modern design. I love the sleek styles and retro vibes, the soft-yet-modern feel, the clean-line simplicity… and clearly, I’m not alone. Thanks to Don Draper, the mid-century craze has brought back a pretty fierce nostalgia for everything from the fashion to the furniture of the 1950s and 60s. And it doesn’t seem to be going away anytime soon. More
It was 25 years ago that Michael Aram first traveled to India and fell in love with the rich craft of metal-working. That one life-changing trip led him to spend years perfecting the craft, setting up a workshop in New Delhi, and creating his unique brand of handmade gifts and keepsakes. And boy, did all that hard work pay off… Today, the artist, designer, and newbie dad sells his one-of-kind designs everywhere from Nordstrom to Bloomingdale’s to (you guessed it) right here at giggle. And what I love most about each piece (besides their obvious beauty) is that no two are ever alike — from the beautifully elaborate (like this “olive branch” oil dispenser) to the simple and sweet (like this heart-shaped baby rattle). I love Masala Baby’s kids’ clothes, with their bold colors, global inspiration, and eclectic styles handmade by artisans in India. (Check them out, if you haven’t already. They make great, unique gifts!). So when I had the chance to sit down and chat in-depth with the woman behind the designs — founder, creative director, and mom of one, Dipali Patwa — I was thrilled. After speaking with her, it’s so clear that the contemporary global feel of her brand is a direct result of the places Dipali has traveled, the people she’s met, and the experiences she’s had. And after hearing a bit of what inspires her, it’s easy to imagine that at the heart of each piece of clothing is its own story. More
