If you have the right stroller and the proper gear, there’s no reason why you shouldn’t stroll comfortably with your baby during the winter months. We have been strolling straight through December, January and February here in Canada, thanks to my trusty Baby Jogger and some warm accessories for both myself and my baby.
My preferred accessory for staying toasty warm? Scarves. Wide ones can double up as a head cover during especially blustery days. But in addition to a warm woolen scarf, the next best accessory to have is a pair of touchscreen-friendly gloves. We live in a digital age where texting, tweeting and checking Facebook updates on-the-go has become the norm. Isotoner’s smarTouch Gloves keep your fingers warm while you text in colder weather. Plus, they have several different styles to choose from in a multitude of fabrics, fleece, leather, spandex and knits.
And then there’s baby. Keeping your little one bundled is so important when facing frigid temperatures — which is why a hat and mitts are a must. (I am in love with this set from 7 A.M. Enfant.) Snowsuits are a good idea for frolicking in the snow, but if you’re just traveling from point A to point B, you may want to consider a muff.
UPPAbaby’s Babyganoosh Footmuff will keep your little one toasty with its cozy fleece liner that hooks right on to your stroller. It even has a no-slip solution that prevents bunching.
The Urban BundleMe is a tried-and-true favorite that I used for all three of our children when we took them for their very first outing. You can use this luxurious bunting in your car seat or stroller, since the back adapts to all harness systems. The interior is so incredibly plush and soft. I loved it so much I ended up purchasing the matching Bundleme Hat, too; I just couldn’t get enough of the soft shearling!
