There is nothing like a well-fitted, attractive bra to make you feel like a million bucks, especially when you are nursing! When you’re in the transitional period of losing your pregnancy weight and don’t feel at your very best, a well-made bra that provides support and sexiness can make all the difference in the world.

You might think that you can get by on inexpensive nursing bras, especially if you don’t know how long you’ll be nursing. It pays to invest in a few good ones — experts agree that three is a good number: one to wear, one in the closet and one in the wash — and rotate them. It’s a good idea to replace your nursing bras every 6-12 months because they stretch out a lot more than typical bras, what with the tugging open and stretching of the fabric as your breast grows (and shrinks) throughout the day.

Another caveat is that in general, you’ll be getting a well-made bra when you spend a lot of money on a nursing bra, but the reverse is also true. The better nursing bras do cost more than the least expensive ones but not all expensive bras are well-made. Treat yourself to a fitting at a local bra store and make sure you’re getting the right size.

A quality well-fitting bra is important for support and comfort, but it also does wonders for one’s self-esteem.
