Trendspotting: The New “Greige”

2012_07Greige

If you want a nursery that’s serene and sophisticated, ditch the pastels and turn to greige, a classic neutral that sits at the crossroads of grey and beige.

Among the things we love about it is that it’s a beautiful way to design a gender-neutral nursery without relying on the old stand-bys of sage green and yellow. Greige can be cool and dramatic, or classic and timeless, but either way the color palette creates a soothing environment for your nursery.

Because it’s a neutral color, you can dress it up in a number of ways. The current trend is greige infused with metallics, which gives it some punch and prevents it from being too subtle.

Greige ties in beautifully with a range of greys and beiges, and makes a fabulous backdrop for our Alex Collection in grey. If you want to brighten things up, you can punctuate it with a fun color accent. We love orange, of course, but any bright color will add flair.

Greige is also great for those items that live outside the nursery, in that it blends nicely with a grown-up decor. (The Coco Go Lounger and Organic Moses Basket are both great examples.)
